This is a closeup shot of a steel step that's part of a staircase on the outer deck of a car ferry that runs between Vancouver, BC and Victoria, BC. Though the yellow and black made for a nice contrast and the sun was hitting it just right. I couldn't resist snapping it!

There should be a dial on your camera that's labeled "focus".

Wow, thanks for the thoughtul comment. Not sure if you are a photographer yourself, but judging from your comment I doubt it. I deliberately shot this with a wide aperature (f2.8) so that the depth of field would be quite small. (It's not hard to tell that it's actually in focus) Next time, think before you post a comment like that. Sheesh.

My current desktop pic. I love the detail in the wear 'n tear of the step and the shallow depth of field. Perhaps the first poster needs glasses?
