I took this the night before the presidential innuaguration in 2005. It was snowy and the lighting was great. I added a slight lighting filter with Photoshop to spotlight the monument.

i love the background, but i read the comment and i couldnt help but smile. i was at the monument that same day (the day before the inauguration). i remember how beautiful and peaceful it was with all of the snow. my pictures DEFINENTLY did not turn out this well :o)
