I had originally posted a shot taken from further out. One of the comments suggested that next time I make the long hike down to the frozen lakeside. I did, already! Hope you like the different viewpoint. Oh and any further suggestions to walk out onto the frozen surface next time will be ignored (smile).

Near Glencoe, Scotland. Temperature was -8C and to my surprise the entire lochan was frozen over. Last of the morning light adds some pleasing colour to the scene.

I shot this picture at Stein, Isle of Skye, Scotland, on march 2009. I used a tripod and ND filter in order to obtain an appropriate exposure time (2.5 seconds at f/22).
