Durdle Door, Lulworth, Dorset
Durdle Door is one of the most photographed landmarks along the Jurassic Coast. This rock arch in the sea was formed as a result of the softer rocks being eroded away behind the hard limestones, allowing the sea to punch through them. Eventually the arch will collapse to leave a sea stack such as those that can be seen at Ladram Bay in East Devon.
Mupe Bay Dreams
Mupe Bay faces East and is well sheltered from the prevailing winds. It is a large, pebbly beach that can be accessed either by water or along the coastal path leading from Lulworth Cove. Enormous landslides affect the eastern end of the beach, making parts of it inaccessible. Tech Data: Canon 5D, 16-35MKII at 16mm B+W polarizer and 9ND Soft to keep detail of the sky.
Smooth Evening
This was taken after sunset. The blue cool color after the sunset was amazing and the clouds were moving quite fast, time to get a shot! I composed, breaking the rules! I targeted this "pier" which i guess is used by the fisherman at night. I love the blurred color of the water and the sky moving fast, the glow is just amazing! I could not do any more long exposures as there was a house right behind me and a huge light turned on while i was taking this exposure. You can just notice a bit of orange color in the wood with a grey color, that will be my shadow but it is not really noticeable.
Durdle Door, Jurassic Icon, Dorset
This is my favorite landscape at the moment, and I'm exclusively sharing it with you, Enjoy. Tech data: canon 5D, 16-35mkII at 16mm +.6 ND filter, B+W Polarizer.
Lulworth Cove
This was taken a couple of weeks ago when i visited Lulworth Cove again. I decided to go up the hill and try to capture the cove. It was really windy (as you may notice in the image). There was a storm approaching and i had to be quick otherwise the sky colors would disappear due to the storm. I selected a nice view and quickly set up. I used a ND .6 to keep sky details.
Green Addict
This is one of a couple of pics I took in Mupe Bay. I was looking through my backup and this one was quite nice and caught my eye. It was a bit under-exposed but I was able to recover lots of detail. It's a 15-second exposure using an ND .6 filter, the only one I had at the time! Also, i found it quite hard to find a title as I always do. I thought I've been submitting quite a few landscapes with green grass in them, so why not green addict!? Regards! J. Antunes
