HazBan vol. 2
By Erik Day
September 5th, 2002
This is the third installment of the hazard folders. New goodies include standard orange/black biohazard themes, NFPA hazard placards, plus high voltage folders, and a nod to First Aid, in both American Red Cross and NSC colors. Also note that lawyerly impulses compel me to disclose that these folders have not yet been endorsed by either organization.

Hazard Folders

As ol' Stevie Jobs is so fond of evangelizing, Mac OS X has industrial strength underpinnings (and an industrial strength upgrade price for us early adopters, too... Ooh, that sounded bitter didn't it? Grapefruit, anyone?) Anyway, for those of you that are industrial strength users, maybe you want some folders to reflect that, eh?
This set of patterned folders is loosely based on DOT and OSHA marking conventions (which, in turn, owe plenty to nature's own don't-mess-with-me colors). They're a bit rough on purpose: they're meant to catch your eye. The style was intended to be a modern "Hey-I'm-workin'-ovah-here," 1000 hp, hard-hat, mountain-moving attitude.
(NOTE: If you want Tim Burtonesque, post-modern, rust belt, leave-me-the-heck-alone-I'm-listening-to-Ministry industrial icons, I recommend INDUSTRIAL ICONS X, by Omid Tavallai. ...Or at least that was the last version that I saw...)

These icons are a memorial of the tragic loss of STS-107 -- and to remember and celebrate the spirit of the heroes that took the risks.
