Misery Ridge
By jdphotopdx

Shot from the summit of Smith Rock, outside Bend, Oregon. If you ever go here I can't emphasize enough to take the Misery Ridge trail.

Orange Icebergs

July 24th, 2018
Last month I joined my brother and my 70 year old mother for a fishing trip in Alaska. I went focused on being a photographer, and ended up being focused on being a fisherman. I did manage to get some shots off, mostly with my Phantom 4 Pro. Its so exciting to get a perspective that I can't see in front of me. This was taken at Harlequin Lake.

Morning at the Deschutes
By jdphotopdx
April 16th, 2018
An early morning just outside Madras, Oregon. A friend of mine has a ton of land here, and each time I go I discover another amazing view!

Baby Beach Sunset
By jdphotopdx
January 15th, 2018
The lack of clouds had me expecting a pretty boring sunset, but I was pleasantly surprised when the one decent cloud in the sky seemed to be perfectly placed in front of the sun. A Maui local pointed out that the tops of these mountains are rarely seen at sunset, usually buried in clouds, so I was capturing something unique. It was a lovely evening!

The Rock at Rainier
By jdphotopdx
November 15th, 2017
This was my first trip to Mt Rainier National Park. These are all the clouds I got for 3 days, but it was still an amazing visit.

Totality
By jdphotopdx
September 6th, 2017
I almost didn't shoot at all. I didn't have solar filters, and didn't want to risk missing anything, but I decided to pop off a couple shots during totality while viewing the eclipse from a friend's property in Madras, Oregon. It was one of the most amazing two minutes of my life. An experience I will hold close forever.

Cannon Beach Sunset

March 16th, 2017
Although I absolutely love my trusty Canon 17-40mm f4L lens, I finally decided to upgrade to a 16-35mm f4L. What better way to test it than a weekend at the coast with the family! This is hands down one of the best sunsets I've seen at the Oregon Coast.
Shot with a Sony A7R, and of course a Canon 16-35mm f4L IS. Also using a Manfrotto Tripod and a fotodiox lens adapter.
Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Photoshop CC.
Sony Alpha 7R.
Majesty

This was taken at Moraine Lake, Alberta. Every photograph I see taken at Moraine focuses on the wide lake view, and when I was there I really appreciated the individual peaks within the Valley of the Ten Peaks.
Shot with a Sony A7R, Canon 70-200mm f4 IS, with a Fotodiox lens adapter.
Adobe Lightroom CC.
