On a boat ride in the arctic waters of Svalbard, birds were seen running on the water before taking off in flight. Taken in late August 2014.

Photogenic Fly

I took this macro photo while on a trip to Thailand last Winter. I saw the fly land on the leaf and got my tripod out and set up. I took some shots from a distance away and approached gradually, but the fly remained on the leaf. This photo is the closest I got before he flew away. The most photogenic fly I ever met.
