Mountain Lake Idyll
By Dominic Kamp
October 2nd, 2012
Lake Bannalpsee is an artificial reservoir. It was built from 1935 to 1937 during the construction of the power plant in Oberrickenbach, Switzerland. It's not very known to tourists and can therefore be called one of Switzerland's secret spots.
Adobe Camera RAW 7.0.

Lower Falls, Yellowstone
By Dominic Kamp
December 14th, 2009
The lower falls at Yellowstone National Park are 308 feet (94 meters) high, or almost twice as high as Niagara. They descend from the 590,000 year old Canyon Rhyolite lava flow and are the largest volume major waterfall in the Rocky Mountains.
I took this photo in August 2009 during my road trip through Montana and Alberta.

Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock)
By Dominic Kamp
September 3rd, 2010
Preikestolen is a massive cliff 604 meters (1982 feet) above Lysefjorden, Norway. It takes you roughly two hours to hike the trail to the top, passing a couple of nice ascents and many, many tourists. And you better cross your fingers that it doesn't start raining from one minute to the other!

Asgard - Realm of the Gods
By Dominic Kamp
June 1st, 2011
When I saw the movie Thor, I was absolutely blown away by the Asgard interpretation and I told myself: "You gotta build that in Photoshop". So I did! It's a multi-layer creation, based on a series of Swiss Alps photos (one of them has been used for 1,000 feet above the Alps).
Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20mm, Adobe Photoshop CS5.

Ascending over the Sky
By Dominic Kamp
February 16th, 2012
This image has been taken on top of the Rigi mountain near Lucerne, Switzerland. It was -20°C (-4°F) plus strong winds that made it feel like -100°C. Of course I thought that my leather gloves would suffice which turned out to be wrong...
Nikon D700, Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II, f/11, Adobe Camera RAW.

1,000 Feet Above The Alps
By Dominic Kamp
October 18th, 2009
I took this picture during a flight from the South of France while we crossed the Swiss Alps. This time, only small Photoshop tweaks have been done, mainly to get rid of the reflections of the window.
Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200mm VR, ISO 100, f/9, 1/320, Adobe Photoshop CS4.
