This photo was taken from Manhattan Bridge, probably the shakiest bridge after an Indiana Jones rope bridge. Every thirty seconds there is at least one train roaring past you on one of the four tracks. That makes it pretty difficult to hold the camera steady, so timing is everything.

Although it was back in 2008 when I visited the Rockefeller Center the last time, it felt like yesterday. I noticed though that the skyline had changed quite a bit. The building in the front center (between 46th & 47th streets) must have popped up out of the ground, as it's not even in Google Maps. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful day and at last, I could experience how Rockefeller enjoyed a sunny day's ending.

Taken from the 102nd floor observation deck of the Empire State Building. We're looking South over Downtown. In the back you can see the new One World Trade Center that almost looks finished. Opening will be in 2015. About five minutes later, the city was completely covered in clouds.

Manarola is a small town, a frazione of the comune of Riomaggiore, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northern Italy. It is the second smallest of the famous Cinque Terre towns frequented by tourists and probably the most photographed. During this night there were probably 20 tripods next to mine, and everybody waited for the perfect shot...

Taken from the top of Muottas Muragl, a minor summit situated near St. Moritz in Switzerland. It offers a great view on the four lakes of St. Moritz / Engadin and is reachable until 11PM by a cable car.
