I think the quality is great considering that not every artist/uploader on this website owns a $7,000 camera, $500 film, and has their own personal dark room built into their garage.
And the line in the back of the scene is a marina barrier. It's a barrier used to distinguish that boundaries of a public marina, so that people know when they're leaving the marina or entering it.

amazing view. i love this shot. but the description says taken from sears tower but you can clearly see sears tower in the middle left of the skyline. not being rude, just wondering where it was taken

I think that the shot is taken from the sears tower. Thus you can't see it. Great shot by the way.

Bad quality??? This image is excellent. There may be a bit of graininess but that is the only thing from this image that could be considered "bad" but the graininess actually adds to this picture in an artistic way.
The composition is excellent, as is the choice of black and white.

And, yeah, somebody needs to re-read the description: taken _from_ the Sears Tower. Hence not seeing it anywhere in the picture.

Thats not the sears tower in the background its the handcock... and the black line in the background is a break wall (not sure if that name is correct) out on the lake.
I would be interested to see this shot again in three years when Trumps new building and The newly approved 2000ft chicago spire will be complete

The black "line" in the background is the breakwater off the shoreline in lake Mich.
