Cloud Cover
April 6th, 2007
This shot was taken near Rizal Park on Beacon Hill, overlooking downtown Seattle. This is pretty much how it looked, I bumped the saturation a bit...Nice night!

I think I remember seeing your photo on The Radiant Vista website. It's such a great shot! Could you please provide camera info.?

Canon Rebel XTi, 17-40L...20 seconds @ f/13, ISO100. This shot was actually not altered very much at all, just sharpened, noise reduction and a moderate saturation increase.
Radiant Vista? Never heard of it, but then my photos do end up all over the place...this shot was taken on 4/4/07, so it probably wasn't this one.
Thanks for the comments!

Very crisp, great color, and overall great desktop. When I shoot photos I work hard to keep up with amazing shots like this one. Thanks for the inspiration.

For me there is no greater compliment than to say my work inspires someone...thank you very much, and you are very welcome!
As for missing Washington, just remember...it's raining here right now. You're probably wearing shorts...

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I dont think this pic is that great. I find the pole on the right side to be very distracting, mostly because it makes the picture look tilted. The horizon is almost in the center of the page, which looks boring to me. Other than that, I like it.. Sorry, my 2 cents.

I thought about the pole at first but I think it actually adds a lot this fantastic photo so I disagree with the poster above me. This is one fabulous photo and with it's superb composition! Makes me miss Seattle so much. Seattle is beautiful indeed!

I did leave the pole and rail in intentionally, for better or for worse. It was one of those things you aren't sure about until you see it at home on the monitor...I like it, and most people seem to. I do agree with the issue of the pole being tilted, but alas, I don't have a tilt/shift lens...

Lyle, if you have Photoshop, you dont need a tilt/shift lens. In photoshop, go to edit> transform> distort.. grab and pull the upper corners out until the vertical lines look straight. I tried it on this pic and now I think its much better.

This is a great shot. I'll have it as my wallpaper for a long while. I personally love the pole because of the ripped off concert posters. I work down in georgetown so the rail is great because it captures the contour of the hill without even showing it. Please take more. OH..what gallery are you going to be at?

Just purchased a 30 inch high res widescreen monitor and for the life of me couldn't find a desktop to do it justice. Stumbled upon this website and browsed around until I found your photo and just stopped looking. Excellent work, your photo is displayed proudly on my screen.

Wonderful photo, I miss Seattle. Currently in the Marine Corps, and I'm putting this on my laptop's backround when I take it with me on deployment. Thanks, keep up the good work.

First of all, this is a very beautiful picture. It's now my wallpaper. As for the person who didn't like the pole, sorry to hear that. I personally like it. It gives the picture a bit of depth. When I look at the picture, I just want to walk up to the pole, lean on it, and stare out over the city. Also, the pole isn't tilted too much. I didn't notice it until it was pointed out. Overall, very nice and keep up the good work.
