Oh man, such an amazing picture with an incredible subject and here I sit with an oldschool fullscreen. Any chance on a fullscreen pic being made available? It would be much appreciated.

Yeah, generally I don't agree when people say that something is the best on this site. But with this one I definitely have to agree. The detail on this is amazing, and I love the colors. You have to get more shots of where you took this.

I used a simple Canon camera: the Canon DIGITAL IXUS 700
Just put it on the ground and left the shutter open for like one second.

I couldn't help but noticing those two * blue * luminaires. They could find something more integrated to the sculpture.

This really is special. I don't usually get all emotional about wallpaper but its hard to go wrong with a subject as glorious as St Peters.

I submitted a full screen picture as well, but they didn't put it up yet. I already asked them, hopefully they will later.
In the meanwhile, get it here:

Great photo! I'm not into religious images (well, this is from a church after all...), but this photo is really amazing. The colors, the balance and the luminosity did it for me. Thanks for sharing.

You were there the week after I was! I tried taking the same sort of shots with limited success due to the odd but magnificent varying lighting. Put the camera on the floor!! I would never have thought of that (indeed I didn't). Hat's off to you. My wife will be very impressed when I drop this beautiful photo as her wallpaper on our new hi-res 1680 x 1050 monitor to surprise her.

I agree, there is something positively celestial about this image. I have had this as wallpaper for over a year, and have had no desire to change it.

Jesus this is the first comment I've ever made on this site and have been using it for a long while. This picture is breath taking! You truly have an amazing eye for picture taking, nicely done.

This picture has the perfect balance of colors, structure, and natural skill of picture taking. There is not much to do to improve this picture.
