I received a lot of positive feedback from my "Sidewalk Vertigo" submission, so I thought I'd create and submit a similar image. This was taken with my Nikon D70 and edited in Photoshop CS2.

Wow, call me crazy but I love this.. It's perfect for those of us who don't keep icons on our desktop.. Something full and unfocused entirely. It's just unique, and I like it. Thanks much!

Congratulations to this wonderful shot!
May I ask what effect you used in Photoshop? I assume you first created an HDR picture and reduced the colors. Then you made a circular mask around the end of the road, the vanishing point, and feathered around the edges. Then you applied the radial blur (30px), medium quality et voilá! Awesome idea!

I would love this same photo without the "speed" effect

Maybe I'm being too simplistic here, but isn't this shot easily achievable having the camera set up on a tripod and using a longer shutter time (say, 1/20) while adjusting the zoom on your lens during exposure?

Photoshop is great and all, but I still love the old fashioned ways of photography. Photoshop can fix my colours, levels, and contrast all it wants though! ;)

Love it, but can't look at it--it makes me dizzy! Your Sidewalk Vertigo pic is aptly named also.

Very nice picture, but, like G23 said, this picture can be achieved without using photoshop. I was inspired by this image and started experimenting with my D70 and my 28-80mm zoom lens. I found that I could create the same effect by setting the exposure to 1/15th of a second and zoom out as it was shooting. So, if you can't afford photoshop or it just isnt your cup of tea, this shot is doable with a zoom lens. Very nice picture though, love the idea.

This picture is really nice, just awesome! Like the "Blur/Speed effect". If you ever consider take a other picture like this, do it! :)
