In My Eyes

Its a horse looking at some lines, basically - oh yeah there are some stars too and some dusty stuff - the horse probably wonders what is going on. Not to worry though, he's going to the glue factory soon anyway.

Coming from a horse lover I honestly question the appropriateness of your remark. Had you not said that I'd probably have downloaded your image, but when I look at it all I can think of a dying animal. Why would you say something like that?
insightful
immature

Not that fussed on the wallpaper but the description and ensuing comments cheered me up no end. Thanks!

My sense of humor is just fine when something is actually funny. The problem I have is that this image is simply not that good and the comments the artist included with it indicate that he/she don't really take it all that seriously themselves.

I agree the comment is out of context, stirring unnecessary dissonance that detracts from the enjoyment of the image.

Everyone needs to relax! It looks like it's a unicorn (you can't see the horn because of the way the image is oriented)...and they definitely don't take unicorns to make glue. Super glue, maybe, but definitely not glue.

Ah, the World Wide Web, allowing no wit, boring people who feel the need to express their opinion on everything since 1989. Would you like anyone telling you what to write a description for your work??????? lay off

Awwwww did he make a no no funny about the horse? Grow up, seriously. Im surprised you've made it this far, jumping at any chance to defend someone. You guys sure are rebels...its people like you that need rules and regulations on everything to live a sane life.
Very nice wall though. Sorry that idiots walk among us.

I think the effects look really cool. I bet it would get more downloads if you could see more of the horses head.

This image really does absolutely nothing for me. The description... whatever, it's neither funny nor offensive.
Where are the breathtaking landscapes? The abandoned buildings? The interesting perspectives? This one honestly reminds me of a doodle from a Jr. High girl's notebook. I started coming to this site because of the amazing photographic skills of its submitting members. Lately there has been little to keep me coming back.
There is rarely a need for computer rendered sparkle effects.
Not every photograph has to be HDR to be good.
Good design - concept, composition and execution - should trump photoshop effects and glitter.

Look, people, if you will read MY comments closely you will notice that I don't make any reference to the stupid horse. My comments address the fact that the artist isn't taking their own work seriously. The comment "its a horse looking at some lines, basically - oh yeah there are some stars too and some dusty stuff" pretty much shows that they don't take this very seriously. Well, in my opinion, an already mediocre image becomes even more meaningless when even the artist doesn't care. I don't give a rip about the stupid horse or the inane comment about it becoming glue. InterfaceLift has higher standards for submissions than do many sites and seeing an image that, in my opinion, shouldn't ever see the light of day is annoying.

I think it's quite creative but a bit gay looking. The artists comment was funny as well, considering the comments here.

I like digital art. I really do. I create quite a bit of it. But my point was this: The IFL website seems to promote, as do many of its contributing members, that this is a place for a slightly higher form of art than you can find on other websites. Something that if you made a print of and framed it, an average adult might enjoy hanging in their living room. I wasn't by any means saying all submissions must be limited to the categories I described above, but rather trying to push people to explore something outside their computer room. Get out with a camera, think about your composition, and take some pictures. Use post-processing to enhance the look and feel of the image, not create it. It's the artists who do as I prescribed that are able to create a visceral, emotional response to their pictures.

Clearly the product of a warped and creative mind. We need more people like this to save us from your holiday snaps! I like the detail in the eye. Look up this phrase detracters: 'tongue in cheek'.

Nah its okay... your right..
just dont forget that art in all aspects is personal experience.
Who knows how much thought and effort went into this image...
It could be the highest form of art for the creator....
(doubt it... but hey)

It's just a wallpaper. Dude you'd fire people over a wallpaper you don't like? Like how ridiculous is that? What can I say... I'm glad you're not my boss...

AdamP, why not worry about the way you create YOUR art instead of telling people how they should create theirs? If you don't like it you should just ignore it, or give some constructive criticism instead of just spouting off about landscapes and other subjects already heavily explored on this site. One wallpaper isn't going to destroy the "reputation" of IFL, so everyone should lay off and go look at art they actually enjoy if they are so bothered by this piece.

For a digitally-manipulated picture, this is pretty good, the description is hilarious, & thanks for smolamj's equine expertise too. My son (a lifelong, committed, vegetarian smart-arse) agrees with me, you made our day ;)

Like "AdamP" and several other, i also started to come here frequently because of the unbelievable shots we can find here, and considering all the work i've saw here in the past, this one is not as bad as some people here says..
(believe me, you can find alot worse here)
I personnaly prefer a picture than a vector based wallpaper, but considering the kind of thecniques you used where, i say its not bad at all.

lol bad or not, I'd say the people approving pics here have a sense of humor.
I've seen much worse stuff than this here, people just didn't like the comment. bunch of twits.

BIG SIGH....... Geez people, let this die already. Ccrisis, people that disagree with the comments above are not twits. Grow up. If no comments had been included with the image it would still have been a mediocre image. You are correct that there have been much worse images posted on InterfaceLift(a certain digitally composited view out of a curtained window comes to mind), however, that doesn't make this one any better. Personally, I don't find the comments funny but I'm not offended by them either. I simply don't like the image. Cripes, I've got plenty of my own images that I don't like either, but I don't post them online. This has been blown WAY out of proportion.

WOW!! :) Clearly I was having a bad hair day. Apologies for sparking such controversy with my lame humorless comment. Jeez. Negative 7 approval rating. I feel like a politician.

Wow. You people are terrible. =]
jpicard _ wi.rr.com, I hope you're never a parent. When little Suzy comes home with her first 5 year olds rendition of a horse are you going to tell her it should never have seen the light of day. I'm a firm believe in "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all."
Maybe if more people practiced this we would live in a world full on confident, smart, and outgoing people.
And in defense of the artist's comments; Haven't you ever doodled? Digitally or otherwise, and decided to share it? If it's a doodle, and not their life work, maybe a humorous and light hearted description is absolutely appropriate.
