To be completely honest in my critique, photographical, the image lacks a focal point, any depth (contrast between foreground and background), has faded colors, and image quality-wise, looks soft and undetailed.

Suggestions: if there is anything interesting below, try to include some of the scene, not just the sky. Suns or rays usually make a good focal point in sunset pictures. For this image, I don't think boosting the saturation would have hurt and actually makes this image a lot better I think.

f8pcpaul is right on this one, there's no focus, no interest. This one doesn't do it for me.

thanks f8pcpaul, i really appreciate your critiques and suggestions and i'll keep them in mind in the future (As you can see i'm just a begginer).

Unfortunately the photo was taken from my living room window and below there were only roofs, electric cables, lampposts(?) and so on.
Certainly not a photografic piece of art, but maybe a pretty good desktop wallpaper.

For Wallpaper: I like photos without a focal point; sometimes i like a focal point on the left or right, never in the center. This makes a great wall paper.

I like to have a point of focus in my photographs so that my eye has somewhere to rest. This is only a preference though, as democitius points out that he likes photos without the focus. I am wondering what the roofs, electric cables and lampposts would add to the photo, sometimes elements like that help the image speak more and gives the image a story. Still it is all in preference, some might not like this style while others do. Make sure that you keep up the work. :)

All my sunset/cloud pictures look that way as well since I try to avoid the suburbia etc from the bottom. Nice go, though.

Well, I don't know, but it seems like you're new to photography. You really shouldn't post images here unless you get your compositions straight and have a real motive in your pictures. Sunsets/sunrises can be remarkable, but are hard to capture. This is far from the worst attempt I've ever seen, but is in no way good. The picture is unsharp too.

To the operators at interfacelift; please don't allow the bad pictures here. This site used to have good wallpapers, now it has turned into a site for people to post their first images. People started to watch it because of it's content, only good pictures, I'm very close to removing this site from my bookmarks and if you don't become more critical about allowing submissions I believe others will too.

Raimez...try again. You have a great camera but why is the image so grainy? When shooting sunsets you need to give people a perspective--something they can compare the grand sheme to and spring from in order to appreciate the beauty. Without contrast with horizontal lines going across the screen and fuzzy at that it's hard to appreciate your picture. Interfacelift needs to lift it's face out of Inter and start judging photos based on 1) Quality 2) Composition and 3)Meaning.
