As a longtime Chicagoan, I'm going to guess that the photo was snapped from the bend in the shoreline near North Avenue Beach.

I have a few sunrise/sunset pictures on my FlickR page (You can access that from my InterfaceLIFT profile) which I'll probably continue to add to. However, I don't think I'll be submitting any new Chicago skyline type pictures to InterfaceLIFT. Want to mix it up with some Variety.
