Likable and very professional but if that's the road to America its not the most pretty place in the world is it ? not sure I care to go up that road.

;-) I had to come up with some name to relate it somehow to the election. At first I had it called "Way to Manhatten" - as well not truly innovative. If you've got any suggestion, I'm very happy to hear it.

Saved to my hi-rez wallpaper collection.

I like the sensation of the passing of time from the photo, looking at the ageing barrier in the middle for example. Very thought provoking in my opinion :)

I absolutely love this picture. You paid homage to my great home town and made it symbolically relevant, I love it!!!

Dear all, i would like to mention one thing.
I received a message from a user who was a bit excited over the text I wrote for this wallpaper. It was never my intention to hurt anyone's feelings or give an opinion in any way, but if you feel that the word "constancy" has a negative notation, then I'm very sorry for that.
Regards, Dominic

Man, don't worry about it. Tensions were high on this side of the water last night and are hyper sensitive. Great shot, nothing negative or positive in your title. I'll burn one for ya.

Good grief. I'm a conservative and I didn't get anything negative out of it. And very classy handling of the comment, Macindows.

It works out nicely that since Obama won the flag points to the left.

Fantastic image. The right will come to appreciate what this election means over time. A sorely needed sea change, not just for America, but for the planet. We can't survive by turning peers into enemies. If this image (or my comment) stirs negative emotion, then the reader is misinterpreting, because it is not meant to be divisive, but all-inclusive.

Not all change is good. :)

I'd characterize it as more of a rescue than a change. :)

Conservatives, if nothing else, please just consider this one hypothetical. A young Pakistani Muslim is watching television and sees that this man -- Barack Hussein Obama -- is the new face of America. In one simple image, America’s soft power has been ratcheted up not a notch, but a logarithm. A brown-skinned man whose father was an African, who grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii, who attended a majority-Muslim school as a boy, is now the alleged enemy. If you wanted the crudest but most effective weapon against the demonization of America that fuels Islamist ideology, Obama’s face gets close. It proves them wrong about what America is in ways no words can.

Sorry, my comment keeps getting blocked...? I'm not using profanity or even antagonistic commentary. What's going on?

OK forget it! I'm being censored for attempting to say something extremely positive. Thanks.

I was hoping that InterfaceLIFT would be one of the very few places that could care less about politics. Obvioiusly I can't even escape the hype here.

Billy, I do understand your frustration, but please understand your leadership affects the world in very real and visceral ways. I don't know how Americans feel about it, but to us your election is hardly mere politics to be escaped at will. That said, we can SURELY do without partisanship and hate, and I think Macindows' wallpaper is not hateful! :-)

No I did not mean my post to be hateful at all, it's just that i feel this website should be about losing yourself in the world of photography and digital art, it should be a beautiful place with nothing to worry about or argue about. That's just my two cents I guess.

Art encompasses everything, including politics and social issues (if not more so than anything else). Great photo and... IMHO... great symbolism Macindows. You should never have to apoligize for your opinions or representations. It's not relevant artwork unless it sparks some sort controversey or provokes some thought, good or bad.

I love the picture, I have downloaded 2 of them. However, I do not like the caption about change and consistency. I think there could have been a better way of putting it. If I made a comment about mr. Obama, I would be persecuted for it. The caption made me have second thoughts about downloading it. good image and I love your other images keep on with the night time ones, I love city Images.

This is my favorite wallpaper on this site. Very clean and the colors are spot on. Nice, very nice.
