The Lookout

November 7th, 2008

A beautiful lookout on Waiheke Island, Auckland. I don't normally do HDR's, but this shot seemed to suit it so I gave it a go.

Fantastic colors - This will be very nice to dream over when I'm shivering in the upcoming Winter months :).

I could sit here for days, looks peaceful perfect setting for daydreaming.

I especially like the way that little bench sits in the picture

What place is this if I may know?

I love the worn patch of earth peeking out ever so slightly from the front of the bench. It shows that people know that this a good place to sit and relax. You are fortunate to live in such a beautiful country.

Thanks guys. @Jasenko, this is Kennedy Point reserve on Waiheke Island, which is just a 35 minute ferry ride from Auckland city. A great place to get away.

Wow...this is your best picture yet. Finally interfacelift let in your more attractive, less sunsetty pictures. Thank you moderators and great picture Chris.

This reminds me of Pacific City, which is another great photo, though less bright.

It looks as if the bench is just waiting for someone (me?) to come along to sit and ponder. I'd probably want to sit on the grass, though, and go and paddle in the shallows. I feel I could step into this picture. Oh that it were true!

Wow, this one took my breath away. I guess the only thing I want to add is that I really wish I lived in that house. Wow. What beauty. Thank you for submitting this, Chris!

The wooden bench standing on the foreground makes this picture more special. Not everyone walking with a camera think like this - most would simply go for plain scenery. Very nice shot - 100% nature including the bench! Thanks.

Very nice Chris. I'm sure I went to that exact place last time I went to Waiheke.

I'm just wondering, any chance you have that shot that they showed on 3News tonight? I noticed that they said it was sent in by you ;). That picture would look great on my desktop!

Hello Chris

Is that a case of an abusive use of your picture here?

It's good but I would have preferred it without the bench.

@Endovelico, they do seem to pinch wallpapers from here without permission, but OTOH they do link to my Flickr page and give me credit, so I'm fine with that. Not sure if other submitters would feel the same though.
