Rockefeller's View
By Dominic Kamp
November 26th, 2008
Fingers frozen, definitely got a cold but it was worth waiting! Early November, from the top of Rockefeller Center's terrace in New York City.

It took me a while to appreciate this one, but the more I look at it the more visceral it becomes. After staring at it a while, it almost seems like all the other buildings are pulling away from the one in the center out of reverence. So good use of wide angle and framing on this one.

The city that never sleeps. Hey taxi! I love this shot--simply love it. By the way, what lens did you use?

Wow! I love it. It's at the very high standard as your other wallpapers. I was searching for some great NYC wallpapers earlier today too!

To me this is very impressive. These buildings seem to really scrape the sky. I love the composition. Great city photo, one of the best I've ever seen.

Love the photo, especially the amazing detail retained on the smaller buildings a little further off. Must have been a very clear day in NYC.
A enjoyable and rare perspective.

Hi Ezoxu
You are looking south from Rockefeller Center and that means east is to the left and west is to the right. The north-south street just to the left of the Empire State Building is is 5th Avenue and the north-south street to the right is 6th Avenue (AKA The Avenue of the Americas).
I'm not exactly sure what building you are referring to but just to the west at the corner of West 42nd and 6th Avenue of the is the 54 storey, glass and steel Bank of America Tower. It is directly west of Bryant Park and won't be opened until 2009.
Donald Trump's buildings are further to the north than Rockefeller Center and thus closer to Central Park. There is also one building, the Trump World Tower, near the United Nations building to the east but it does not show in this picture.
Cheers

In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.

I love this shot! This is absolutely amazing! The sharpness of the buildings is ridiculous!
Nothing can be done to improve perfection. Were you able to tripod mount this shot?
