Almost excellent just one small problem ... The Man
When I see a serene picture like this I like to enter a personal world between just me and the image however when there's another human in the picture that doesn't really need to be there I don't identify with it in the same personal way, its like that personal space between me and the picture has been violated to some degree by ...The Man.

Seriously awesome photo. Beautiful as a wallpaper. Makes me miss home. Ah Tampa.
Oh, and I have to agree on the above comments on "the man". I get how you were going for something, but I'd prefer the photo without him. Still, just an incredible shot.

Great shot, I was just there the other night taking some sunset pictures by those posts on the left. How weird.

Nice work. I added this to Wallpaper Master within 5 seconds of looking at the full-size version. I like every detail about it. Having that guy in there makes it so there's absolutely no question as to the actual scale of everything. Well done!!!

Come to think of it: who's the guy in this shot, and how did you get him to hold still for 30 seconds? Are YOU the man in this shot, rczeien? hehe That's the only thing I can think of. Either way, I still enjoy looking at this shot.
makaros, there's blur on the palm tree branches, especially off to the left. But, a tripod or something similar is used for long exposure shots like this. Not only that, but when there's almost absolutely no wind, it's a great opportunity for an awesome shot.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The man in the photo is my father, who was nice enough to stand perfectly still for 30 seconds while being swarmed by mosquitos.

I think the "stranger" (though we now know who he is) in the middle is adding something to this picture, that most other pictures of this kind do not have and I really like that. How he is just standing there, gazing into the unknown. ^^
Amazing shot, love every detail of it!!

On behalf of myself, you're welcome. You have quite a cool father, especially because he was being swarmed by mosquitos. And I'm with Jonti. I love how he posed.

Great shot rczeien. And give dad a big high five for us. I could see myself looking out into the horizon and be amazed at what mother nature shows us each day as she says "good night!"
Love it!

Is this north or south of the pier? The posts on the beach look familiar. I was there 6 months ago on my honeymoon and this brings back a bunch of great memories. Great shot.

AdamP, the shot was taken a little over a mile south of the pier, just north of the channel going into Naples Bay. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=26.100268,-81.802112&spn=0.007159,0.013862&t=h&z=17

I like 'the man' (AKA 'Dad') because his silhouette is sort of juxtaposed with that the of the trees. It's like he has taken a moment (or, as we now know, 30 mosquito-infested seconds!) to commune with them in that lovely place. Love it.

It's a truly great photo, but I don't need a guy in it. If it was some hot girl, I wouldn't have a problem.
