The Orion Nebula
By chriscologne
April 21st, 2009
I used a public domain NASA image of the Orion nebula, removed the noise and optimized the color range and saturation.
You can find the unedited original here:

I really like how you fix up deep space pictures. The only thing I'd like to see is more of a variety in color. Although these purples are great, some greens or blues would be sweet to!

gorgeous! im really liking your fix ups of the NASA shots. i agree with billy that maybe some more colors other than purple would be a nice change. other than that i have absolutely no complaints and this is my new background. keep it up!

Great Space Pictures! To be honest, after seeing'em - I watched a documentary on Black Holes - so, in a way, they did the trick!

By taking out the "noise" you edited the universe. But using a NASA photo does ease your editing burden since 99% of the work has already been done.

Nice! I think adding random colors would further ruin the authenticity of the photo. I like the clean look over the cloudy noise ridden look any day. And Atozzio....FUNNY!!! :)

I meant by my post above that I would like to see naturally different colored shots, not fake addition of color. Just to be clear.
