I love the sky, very cool. I would have liked a bit more texture to the buildings, but overall I like this.

Whoa. The thumbnail just does NOT do this justice! Well done! I think I'm going to break my own rules and add this to my Wallpaper Master rotation. There's just something about it.

I agree that the thumbnail does not do this piece justice. To the naked eye at a distance, this wallpaper is very plain and bland. I'm not feeling the ocean, the city buildings have a nice 2D touch and the sky is real bread winner in this. Beautiful detail when viewed up close.

I'm not too impressed I'm afraid. The thumbnail does indeed look good, but the big resolution image isn't all that amazing. No offence, but the shadows are not uniform, meaning the light comes from several different directions. The texures are plain and bland and the 'cardboard' doesn't have any form of texture at all, which is a big shame.

a Reply to Stagen:
The reason I've done two shadows is because, a darker shadows created by moon light, and lighter shadows created by spaces between cardboards, If i use more noise on cardboard, You can only see the nice looking cardboard texture in thumbnail, but when you move closer to image you afraid by overuse of noise, Which can take focus on Icons, Dock - Bowtie (in OS X), It may good for piece of art, but when you talk about wallpaper beside a good look you should consider focus on other things on your desktop, but anyone has a different look to things, Your idea is welcome, And thanks for your comment.

I really like this wallpaper and it looks great on my XBR6 at 1920x1080.

The best part about it is how well it looks when on the computer at night and being able to see my icons and their text very easily.

I really like this piece. I just a great--whimsical, yet contemplative too. I wonder how it would look if there were a little irregularity among the waves. Perhaps a little shadowing between one or tow of them to add the tiniest bit of depth. Just daydreaming.

I should say I was just daydreaming, my spelling above is atrocious. More correctly said: I really like this piece. It's a great exercise--whimsical, yet contemplative too. I wonder how it would look if there were a little irregularity among the waves. Perhaps a little shadowing between one or two of them to add the tiniest bit of depth. Just daydreaming.

I find it quite sad that so many talented photographers complain that their work isn't being uploaded, and yet we get submissions like this.

Someone had to say it.

I'm sorry to say this, but this is just a rip from one of the backgounds from the Microsoft Tinker game.

@t4taylor: I've got three answers for you:

first, How a rip version from a design could be more beautiful than the original one? Feel free to compare these designs.

Yeah, Sea in my work was INSPIRED by this design, About 90% of this design is what o imagined from Life in technicolor II lyrics by Coldplay.

And one technical answer, How can I rip a design in a background of a closed source game?

P.S: Each design is inspired by things you see around your nature, Even in all works of famous painters you can see this inspiration...

Different between photographs and graphics design is Photographs is totally belong to nature, But Graphic design is inspired by nature.

Hope these answers convince you...

@Khashiguana - Yes most design *is* inspired by other work but I think you'll have a hard time convincing people that this wallpaper is 90% you own imagination! The concept of the cardboard houses, the colors textures and shadowing of the sky and sea, even the shape and position of the moon (which you can't see in this screenshot) match the game *very* closely. Too closely to just be inspiration.

Do you mean that i steal that photo from tinker?

Sorry for double post!
But if you think, answer of said question is "Yes" here is compare pic which you can see both of this photos side by side: http://i43.tinypic.com/29bdcpg.jpg
In addition, I'm a Mac user, And i just see the screenshot same as screenshot that t4taylor post, and i just planed to ReMake/Rip/Make a inspiration (Whatever you say) from this design but I found this design too complicated to be a wallpaper! So i should decrease the texture make colors lighter and..., Personally i don't see any moon in the screen shot, So i decided to add a moon , and make some orange lights in some of the windows. The only thing that i don't do is just making a link to this screenshot to make everything clear! Plus huge resemblance of this works limits me to convince you guys what did i really do, So do what you should, if i should banned so ban me, But be sure I'll never get disappointed about doing design works...

Great Wallpaper and I never, ever, offer feedback. I was so moved to leave feedback; I even signed up and validated an account!

I can see similarities, but it reminded me more of backgrounds in theatre productions. I found it to be quite original as a windows background. The whimsy is very delightful. I added it to my notebook, and will try to remember to add it to my desktop with Windows7 which will change wallpapers automagically. Thank you.
