S1ipp3ry, so now there are two things you haven't seen before in your life! The grass wallpaper and this one! Nice picture by the way!

I've been waiting a while for a nice oriental wallpaper and you've delivered me one so thank you.

In respect to the photo there is a nice balance between the glow of the lamps and the pinks of dusk behind. The only small criticism for me would be the twigs sticking out in the background, detracts a little from the appeal of the lamps but then it also gives a sense of being there so i'm not sure what to make of there presence.

All in all good job and thanks for submitting :)

Hahaha PatrickBateman, nice joke :D..this is a very particular photo..that kind of lamps are so strange..but the create a romantic and calm atmosphere at the same time..and the colour of the sky is amazing!

it's smooth yet sharp, hommy yet exotic. and it's neither gin nor macindows. but i hate the angle, gives me headache. putting it on my desktop makes me feel like i'm sitting in a gutter. not what i want from a wallpaper.
PS: when you click "disagree" the iranian-style censorship model this site employs kicks in, banning members who are often DISAGREED WITH from commenting. just though you might wanna know that before you click.

I disagree with Burn It. I believe the "angle" is perfect. It leads the eye from top right then goes out the bottom left. Perfect exposure, perspective, and very interesting subject. Nice work.

Hmm...I'm sensing a lot of negativity here. Regardless, I love the bright colors in this photo. I'm curious to know if these laterns are involved in some sort of Japanese ritual and what the writing on them means, if the photographer would happen to know.

Alright, now it's obvious that s1ipp3ry is a comedian. :-) I'd say this one handily beats grass, though. That said, I agree with Burn It on the angle. Perhaps a reshoot from a few feet back would help?

@Burn It, the admins must lie awake at night because they are not meeting your needs. After all, they are here just to serve your tastes. Perhaps you could be more specific - what wallpaper would you like to have next?

Thank you brizkit for being the only person to realize that s1ipp3ry has been kidding around. The rest of you - lighten up. Too many undies in a twist.

Would love to see a close up of one of these lamps. Having so many of them crowding the photo just doesn't seem wallpaper-esque enough to me.

@Burn it: I'll give it a try, so long

OT: Beautiful wallpaper, my kind of style... props

I don't feel like I'm in the gutter but the angle does overwhelm me a bit. I still like the picture, though ;) The mix of warm/cool colours makes me think of a balmy night.

Love the purple background with the orange lights.

All professional constructive criticism aside, this looks great on my desktop. The purple sky is an attractive contrast to the warm glow of the lanterns. I agree with brizkit, maybe a few steps back to encompass the entirety of the lanterns but this still looks great. The angle doesn't necessarily make me feel like I'm in a gutter, rather a child sky-gazing. Much better that way than a completely neutral angle.

@Slippery - your overbearing sarcasm is childish

@burn it - "headache"? "sitting in a gutter"? your scathing negativity is completely unnecessary. trying to make someone feel bad or something? you deserve to be banned.
