Sunset Over the Clouds
By altmann
June 2nd, 2009
I was on a plane when saw the sunset: there was a layer of clouds below the plane and still some over it, so the flaring red was just in between and the sky up above stayed blue :)

Maybe a little grainy at the top but other than that, very nice!

Most plane windows are fairly dirty so I assume you went out on the wing to capture this one. Very nice indeed.

@chogangraphics2.0, no offence, but I think you got banned of this site because you're always looking for the negative things. This is a WALLPAPER site not a photography site. I believe it's time for you to stop it. Altmann!, great picture, the colors are so rich! Love how the sunset disappears in the horizon :D...

Excellent submission. Currently occupying my visual space via my desktop :). Now, I don't personally see the grain to which Altmann refers. But if he does, I believe he's more than fine in pointing it out. I do appreciate Santiago's intended tact, but must respectfully disagree with his sentiment.

I am speechless. The colors are absolutely fantastic. I don't know what else to say because this one just speaks for itself. Nice.

If I had a moment of clarity where everything in the universe suddenly made sense looking at this submission was probably it ! I need to sit down and re think my relationship with time and space.

@Santiago Castellanos: not sure about your south american dictatorship, but in this country people are free to express their opinions. i can tell you that if i was the author, i would be much more appreciative of critical views than your inane, brainless, generic "i like it" comments.

It's nice, but it has something that doesn't convince me..the colors are very good, but maybe the quality is not so high because there was the plane window between your lens and the sky! Obviously not your fault :D

Thank you all! I'm really appreciated :) I'm so happy to see all of your comments, those who praise me make me feel happy and those who are critical help me improve :D really thank you!
The plane window was indeed dirty and full of terrible scratches, for the dirt and oil, I could clean it with facial tissue, saddly for the schacthes, all I could do is to find a best angle so that the sunshine don't reflect on the scratches...and as for the grain, I have already used ISO100, anyone tell me how I can reduce it further T_T

@Santiago Castellanos, you need to understand that people who criticise artworks are just as valid as those who praise them. Like the creator of this wallpaper said, "those who are critical help me improve". If everyone said every single wallpaper was fantastic, would the creators feel motivated to improve upon their craft? When I'm looking for a review of my work (visual designer, I don't do wallpapers) I go to people who I know would likely respond negatively; as they can point out areas where I can improve, as opposed to many people who simply say my work is awesome, with no real insight as to how it could be even better.

Seriously *Burn*. Your maturity peaks at insulting complete strangers on some blog? Even if you think the rest of us are to easily impressed, grow up man. Now please, lash out and prove my point.

@trout, while I agree, Burns' "blah blah" comment was perhaps a little childish, he or she was merely defending another individual with the second comment, me actually. I appreciate the defense, even though the content included was rather harsh towards Santiago. I think Burns* meant well, his comment was simply poorly worded. Notice XHTZK's comment, practically the same in message direction, only worded more professionally. Nothing wrong with people sticking up for each other as long as its handled maturely.

I fly quite often, and most times when I attempt to take any pictures the scratches on the window are absolutely impossible to contend with. Somehow you conquered them, and it is incredible! You might want to think about calling it "Purgatory" as the vivid reds down to the dark blues below give me an ominous "Hell" feeling while the lighter blues above give a "Heaven" feel and you're right in the middle. Just a thought :).
P.S. I appreciate the dialogue people have with each other, but I think it is a little disrespectful posting it to a user's picture. That's what email is for ;)
