Wallpaper Details: A Touch Of Red
A Touch of Red
June 28th, 2009
The sunset was a little bit of a bummer but once in a while a touch of brilliant red kissed the clouds. Blink and it was gone. Maori Bay, Muriwai, West Auckland, New Zealand.

I post a comment on the wallpaper before about recommending this wallpaper to upload and here it is. What happened? Everyone thinks that its great. Maybe you could upload few more wallpapers that I recommended because I obviously know what users want.

@dok1992, it was posted because it finally got enough votes on The Loupe, not because of your comment. Please do not hijack threads with off-topic comments.

I remember voting for this on The Loupe and I knew this was gonna hit the front page for sure. This is really excellent, especially with the dark clouds, but the light shining in the middle. A+!

the set up used here is so played out it's lot most of its appeal. but the bright break in the black clouds saves the photo making it stand out from the dozens of similar ones. makes for a nice wallpaper. good job.

The scene is very beautiful, but I think the quality is not so high. The sky in particular has too noise and this photo doesn't do justice to it!

This photo and BraveRoy's latest Taiwanese waterfall pic use sunlight more successfully than pretty much any other shot I've seen on IFL.

Thanks for the comments. TBH didn't think this would make it, I prefer the S P E N T photo taken at the same time.

@7268869
loupe is a place for naive people who believe their single measly pathetic vote can change something. essentially the same crowd that votes in the elections, ergo people who help legitimize the scam called democracy.

This shot absolutely has that powerful feel about it I love to see in a nature wallpaper. The light contrasts are the basis of the drama, but the core of the effect is the splash of red. There's just a little bit of grain in the image, but that's okay.

Are we viewing the same photo? That comment is beyond harsh!
Lovely shot, the dark brooding clouds help us appreciate the colours even more.

The noise is just in reverse! The sand is so smooth. It calms you down as your eyes return from the sunset. Fantastic job North of Auckland :)

I just came back to say that this wallpaper is consistently more pleasing than new submissions for me. Definitely a favourite!
