the guy running this website should tape this picture on the wall above the computer monitor and refer to it everytime he's tempted to post one of richard mohler's submissions, in that THIS should be the minimum standard for what a computer generated wallpaper should look like.

with the exception of the silly looking waterfalls this is a solid and a pleasant image.

PS: sinking so low as to ban my IP from ACCESSING the website is an idiotic and hysterical response to my criticism. in the era of proxy it won't help much, and will only hurt innocent.

Beautiful work, it's really fantastic. Wish I half as talented as you.

And by the way IFL, why not report BabyBurn (BurnBaby, etc.) to his ISP...?

Very nice. The blue gets a little intense in the clouds but not too bad. Great work.

@BabyBurn: take a hint. you are not wanted here. The moderator is not to blame. I was glad to see IFL free of you and was hoping you had found another outlet to post nonsense.

It's a nice surreal background. Pleasing to look at.

Breathtaking. Very relaxing to look at.

Since I am not a photographer per se, I have never commented before on the screen savers. But since @burnbaby, babyburned, or any other screen name this person wishes to use has made scathing remarks to many photographers on several occasions, some hair raising. He/she is rude.

Thank you to all the photographers who take the time to submit the best screen savers I have seen.

I usually don't like computer generated wallpapers, but this is a very nice one! When I saw it on the Loupe the first time I thought it was a photo! I love the sky in particular, it really looks real!

No good work. The clouds and "waterfalls?" look pretty poor.

In my opinion this photo isn't up to par with the rest or your portfolio. I get that your were going for the fog affect with the water and cliffs, but it looks like a simple outer glow effect done in photoshop. The distinct lack of detail in the water and cliffs make it look very flat when its set against the more realistic sky scape. Also, while the waterfalls would look nice in another photo, the lighting is off and the density of the forest at the mouth of the waterfall is a sad mistake. Aside from that though, the sky is simply breathtaking and you are definitely getting better with the greenery. Also, your color selection impeccable as always.

Man, I was just thinking last night, "How nice it's been since Burn has been gone." Seriously man, find another hobby. Clearly nobody wants you here - at least with the attitude you refuse to let go of. And yet, for whatever reason, you're sick enough to get off on that. Just go away or grow up. And goodness man, it's not like it wouldn't be to your own benefit. Why doesn't that matter to you?

As to the contribution of boss019 - these types of images (rendered) are just never my thing. I can see why some people like it, and if they do then good for them. And I do have to agree with deuces: your previous stuff is far better.

+1 fartnugget

I really don't like. It seems not to be finished... it needs details. Or I don't know what that could make it interesting.

I, for one, look forward to what BurnBaby has to say. Criticism is just that, criticism. Take it for what it is.. an opinion. Although they aren't the nicest comments.. they are completely true. I like this wallpaper, although I think the blue pools? in between the trees lack something.. maybe a softening.

@BurnBaby.. Welcome back. Keep on fighting the man. Your comments are always welcome to me.

I think I'm agreeing with some of the comments that the blue pools/spaces need more depth and detail.

In regards to Burn Baby's return...yes I agree that we should have the right to a certain degree of criticism, however, I think Burn Baby has gone beyond just stating his personal opinion to purposely annoying the other viewers here on InterfaceLIFT. His/her criticism has become more of an attack on everyone who enjoys InterfaceLIFT rather than just casual commenting. After all, commenting is a privilege, not a right.

Thanks everyone for the comments and criticisms.

There are no waterfalls, that is the sun reflecting off the cliffs. And there are no pools, no water at all. It's fog...a bit blue and surreal I suppose. I couldn't move the fog higher because it overwhelmed the greenery and I wanted that to stand out. The piece wasn't meant to be realistic, just a fantasy type wall that I know is not the norm here but something a bit different.

Thanks again for looking. :)

ADMIN: I think its now time for that ignore button feature.
I'm sure with it Burn will only be talking with one other person here.
Although, we did have a few days of peace around here.

AS for this wallpaper... I think its well done. I don't particularly care for artificial landscapes in general, but this is just wallpaper and not gallery hanging art.
Great work.

there are plenty of websites that offer "different" wallpapers.. when i found ifl it was like the holy grail of amazing wallpapers.. now its lost

I never usually use the wallpapers made in PS/Vue but this was amazing. I think BabyBurned is just jealous that he doesn't have half the talent of anyone here.

I thought those cliff walls were waterfalls too. After a second look its obviously a cliff. My minds playing tricks on me. I don't know why I thought those were WF's. They come straight out of the grass.

@ fartnugget: Then why are you here? I have been coming to this website for years and I have no complaints. Well...... not liking the trolls that have found there way here lately. People tend to think of IFL as a photography website but it is actually a wallpaper site. Just look at the most popular submission of all time on IFL. Its not a photograph. I think its great that real photos, photo manipulations, Vue and other computer gernerated wallpapers are accepted and displayed here. Everyones taste is different when it comes to wallpapers. Submissions you love I might hate and vice versa. Get over it and enjoy all the FREE artwork.

Boss, where have you been? Nice work. I agree with a couple comments here, though -- I think this would be a near-perfect wall if the awkward cliff edges were dealt with. As is, they look like unrendered water or video game clipping. I know your aim wasn't realism, but, like your other work, the rest of the image is so finely detailed that I can't help but be distracted.

Maybe you could add some hanging roots and clods to get the sky vibe going? Or just replace the fog with obvious water? Who knows. Hell of a desktop otherwise, so don't get me wrong. I love the huge sweeping fantasy atmosphere and colors here. Simply cool to look at. Keep it up!

Sorry, I meant wallpaper, not screen savers. Brain has gone out to lunch.

Now THAT's how computer generated art should look. It should make you question if it's real or not...and still not be sure even when you're told.

As many people seem to like this, I should ensure that my initial post is not misinterpreted. It was meant to be read as "Jesus, that's awesome".

Not at all.

Well done boss. A nice submission, but I feel the commenters have been spot on here - it seems unfinished.

The greenery on top of the land mass is ace, but that cliff in the foreground really seems to draw the eye, and its lack of detail prevents me from declaring this a sensational wallpaper. Perhaps it could have used some subtle details (outcrops/scratches/small rocks) on the cliff face to add some interest to it?

I recon expanding the fog drop-off would have been nice too. The sudden density increase of the fog makes it appear like there might be ground plane there with the same colour as the fog? Maybe if the fog was a little thinner so we could see down the cliff a bit more it would add a sense of depth to complete the piece.

Otherwise an impressive submission, I'm really just nitpicking. Keep them coming mate.

Man.. when i saw this in the loupe! I voted it straight away!! Its beautiful and its different. Im getting sick of sun sunsets and same stuff.. (No offence) but This is different; it looks like fantasy and I LOVE IT!!!

Keep what you doing bro and Thanks for sharing!

Well done, boss! If I may offer some constructive criticism, I would say that the thing thats a bit awkward about this picture is the bottom of the closest cliffs. The bottom edge seems pretty hard and unnatural, and makes it look like the cliff is abruptly rising out of nothing. I think this is what gives the "unfinished" feeling that others have mentioned.

I hope this was helpful! If you do any more work on this scene in the future, please share it!

Thanks CaptJack and all others with constructive criticism. There are some things you can do in Vue and some you can't. Probably tons that I could do if I knew how. Just like knowing how to manipulate a camera to take an awesome picture, it's all about learning and putting the knowledge to good use.
