This image is quite powerful while retaining a more "natural" feel in the color scheme. Mountains, plains, clouds in between them, but a blue sky backdrop - what else can you ask for?

The fog on the right looks a little weird, but other than that it's another amazing submission from you!

@Tim. H
i strongly recommend commenting AFTER downloading a photo. those thumbnails can be deceiving.
@Gin
technically it's of the usual high quality but the subject matter just seems bland. come to think of it, most of your subject mattters are quite bland, but most of the time you somehow manage to get more out of it. just not this time.

Great shot. And more negativity from Burn Baby Burn. Doesn'tcutting everything down get tiresome after awhile?

I find Burn Baby, Burn's comments refreshing, and would quite like Burn to comment on my own photos.

@busella: That's a fantastic comment! RIP Douglas Adams!
@Burn Baby, Burn: Congratulations on your first post in a while! While always impressing us with your positive feedback, you have now added another vital element to your posts: a complete lack of upper-case letters! awesome! (sic)
@Chris: Another phenomenal photograph. The mountains are superb - keep it up!

Burn your comments, burn (I am just kidding.)
About the photo, yes, it was very well taken. The location is excellent and the scenery is beautiful. New Zealand!

your name didnt ring a bell, but having just looked at your portfolio i have to say that "summer wines" and "green hills" were both my favorites when they came out, and both spent weeks on my desktop. while they're not annie lebowitz by no means, they do capture the ordinary everyday beauty that's around us quite well. and that's not that easy to do, so kudos for that.
i especially like "summer wines" for its simplicity. it goes against most photographic conventions that chris gin adheres to so religiously. which is what makes his photos feel somewhat staged and predictable, making "summer wines" feel fresh and unexpected.
dont ask me to comment on sunsets.

I worry about the day Burns approves of one of my photos. I know I will have stuffed up big time when that happens.

don't be so hard on yourself gin, your "at the park" ranks among my top 5 photos on this site. it's got an understated beauty to it, and i think it was one of the longest lasting wallpapers on my desktop ever.
but you somewhat lack variety in terms of subject matters and your style just gets too monotonous after a while.

Ah haha oh Burn you make me smile.
For sure sunsets get monotonous, yet for some reason they are popular.
Personally since this is a wallpaper site, I think we should be seeing more images that are most suitable as wallpapers, ie they serve a purpose not just for being a pretty picture, but to be easy on the eye, and easy to find desktop icons etc if required - so busy photos like "stormy clouds" don't really work so well - rather than just nice scenic photos.
I'm tempted to delete all what I just wrote, but, I'll post it and keep warm watching the fire burn.
Good night all, I hope to see some good wallpapers in the coming weeks.

I'm sure I saw this location in The Two Towers, when the Rohirrim were moving towards Helms Deep.
Excellent choice of scenery!

Awesome. I can't wait to get back to NZ. I hate you for teasing me with all these photos of NZ, but I love the little glimpses of the country through your photos while I'm stuck here ;)

Very Nice. But only one thing. The cloud at the right...it's weird a little bit. But the rest are beautiful.

Chris, I think you might have outdone yourself here. This is simply beautiful.
