rcheng99, this is already a great option. A soft shot, a subject almost bucolic, ie, my view does not become tired. The sun becomes almost a flower, vibrant in the last minutes of activity. Good job, really.

Let's hope that nothing burns here. Wow, yeah, we are in the sunset.

Looks like an amazing place to visit. One question though, did you do anything to the sun? It seems unnatural looking. Otherwise, amazing picture, and my new desktop. :)

i dont like this thing. it has a strong "video feel" to it. it's smooth and clean, but very plasticky.

what strikes me the most is the sun, or rather what the nikon engineers have made of it. this is a ridiculous tampering with reality. of course it just masks the company's algorithm's inability to handle the situation.

i kinda liked this poster's last submission "stillness". there the smoothness was the key point, and it worked well, although the skewed horizon killed some of it. i hated the "arch". talk about plastic..

Thanks for the compliments. The shape of the sun was due to the aperture used for this shot. Taken with a Nikon D5000.

"Talk about plastic." You mean something that always finds itself in a landfill, never dies, and just keeps coming back again and again in new iterations?

"Plasticky?" Plastic is already an adjective. Then again you may not be a native speaker of English.

The orange reflection off the table is a real deal maker. Please keep the good work coming.

Oh Stubulman - it's in the OED, sorry.
plasticky • adjective 1 resembling plastic. 2 artificial or of inferior quality.

@acidphosphatase, you are correct sir. I just looked it up in my Mac's built in dictionary and there it was. An apology is due: I'm sorry.

My curiosity is not know the meaning of 'plasticky'. I'm less comfortable when I discover that I do not know the meaning of 'acid phosphatase'. Then we reduce the levels of FAC, leaving the dictionary aside and wait for the next post, ok?

LOls how I love all this banter, I really do - makes my day, thank you all - I wish I could buy you all a beer - more so if any recent submission of mine get's on the front page ;p. There are no new photos being taken by myself at the moment that are suitable as wallpaper.
Anyway -
Stubulman - you silly thing you, no apology is necessary, but thank you anyway :)
LevTolstoy - you've lost me.

Much love to you all

This is the greatest website on the web. I'm buying the first round. Burn, you're getting skim milk.

@stubulman

no need to apologize buddy, that mac explains it perfectly. let's just hope it has many more built in features capable of compensating for your intellectual deficiencies.

@Burn Baby, Burn

I have no idea what you are talking about, but then again neither do you. I see you have learned a new word though.

Again, obvious and distracting gradient in the sky.

@Quatrix, are you referring to banding?
