The Amazing Macro-Life
September 23rd, 2009
Shot taken in July, 2009. Canon EOS 450D, Canon EF-S 60mm USM Macro lens. Color effects applied with Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 Complete in Photoshop CS4. I don't really know the name of the flower, but I can assure you that it's beautiful... Enjoy :D

@Tony: I guess it's a bee, and not a wasp.
@Santiago. Nice shot. But i don't like the color effects. Simply doesn't look natural. I think I prefer the original, though I haven't seen it...

You can tame this a bit by using the "Shadow/Highlight..." command in Photoshop. Be careful; when the dialog opens, it automatically boosts the shadows by 50 percent. You'll have to back it down to zero. (At least this happens in CS3.) Also you may want to check "Show more options" for more control in the dialog box.
Bien hecho, Senor!

Personally I really prefer the edited version much more than the original; it gives it more of an art feel rather than just real life. Great submission imo

The original rocks!!!
Thanks for making it available.
To me the closer it is to reality the better. Nature is so perfect, why would you want to mess with it...
But that's just me.
Thanks again for sharing!

... Wow!
I actually gasped aloud when I saw this. Utterly great composition, focus, contrast, and color :) and bees are just cool.

I like both versions. I put both in my rotation.
Tengo gusto de ambas versiones. Puse los dos en mi rotación.
