It could have been good without all the fireworks stuff as well.

I agree with Euphytose... The fireworks wouldn't have been necessary. As well as the fake moon!! Keep up the work..

Are you the original artist because I've seen this picture without the fireworks?

Excellent. This is the first one that I voted on in the Loupe, and actually saw hit the main page. Very good job :)

Its really pleasant colors and motive and all. The size of the fireworks distracts me though. It looks like they were fired from the middle of the lake which they couldnt be, so my impression ends up getting a little fuzzy.

For all of you saying lose the fireworks . . . it's supposed to be a New Year's wallpaper. Hence, the artist's description: "A New Years wallpaper to get you in the spirit."

The clarity and definition on that boat are crazy. Did you superimpose it by chance? If so, no biggie. If not, WOW.

I think it's just fabulous. Well done, kudos! Yeah, I think it would be a great piece with or without the fireworks but as someone else commented, it's a New Year's wallpaper. Looking forward to more of your work.

Great Job! The colors, composition and depth are all awesome. With or without the fireworks. Keep them coming!

Very nice wallpaper, I'd like to know how much of this is actually CS4 - how much has it been manipulated?

Too many fireworks - would recommend s couple large a and a few smaller. Sky too busy and detracts from the otherwise excellent composition.

really nice, but it seems the explosion farthest to the left is a little cut off. Other than that one flaw, this is neat!

I have seen this background picture posted before. The photomanip of it was way overdone with the fireworks, but I do hope you have the original artists authorization to use the picture for this.

The moon looks rather nice, actually. People don't seem to get that sometimes there's more to Photoshop than minor lighting adjustments.

I really like this. I really don't understand the "lose the fireworks" comments, especially given the theme of this submission. Do people read? That's the main theme! The only thing that would make it better for me is the moon being removed or at least more realistically sized. Still, I like it a lot.
