The Fence

January 29th, 2010

Took this last September early in the morning. The light, together with the fog, made a really nice scene.

Canon EOS 50D, Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 AT-X PRO DX, Adobe Photoshop CS4.

It's good and all, and very nice to look at. But it's missing something.

Still great though, and I'm sure others would appreciate it as their background.

It gives me this battlefield feel, which isn't all that great to look at.

What's with all the haters on a freaking wallpaper site? Not your cup of tea? Congratu-freaking-lations. Move on to the next one. Nobody cares.

I for one like this wallpaper. Reminds me of a place I hike at regularly. Very peaceful. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with TrailCat. If you don't like a wallpaper move on. If you have constructive criticism or advice on how the photo might improved by all mean share it.

This is very efficient in the work area. The colors are very well defined, despite the fog. I love natural themes, and this bucolic image produces a pleasant sensation, a pastoral atmosphere. Thank you very much, rekfoto.se.

MrPacMan36, I also got this impression at first glance. I think it's because the sense of distance caused by fog.

I love the colors! Seems a bit blurry, but that's just due to the fog -- excellent shot!

I love those colours - very similar to "img25" and "img17" of the windows vista wallpapers with those peach hues. Gorgeous.

Arts always subjective, a person has the freewill to perceive "art" as he does, whilst doing so one must remember to consider that its just his opinion and that doesn't make the art being gazed upon as fact because we all look at things slightly differently.
No this isn't to my taste but I cant discount the quality of the work and I can see why some people enjoy it.

Put this through a sepia or monochrome filter in Photoshop and I think it'd be lovely.

I love the mist - it's so fantastical and soothing. Nice thing to look at when you first fire up your computer in the morning.

@Yorkie X: You finally learned that you will be labeled as "immature" if you don't like a submission unless you have something nice to say about it or provide constructive criticism ( whatever that is ). On this site, "don't like it" = immature.
As for this submission, I really like it. I think the sun trying to shine through the fog is what makes it so effective. I wouldn't use it as a wallpaper because I find the brightness in the upper right to be too distracting for a wallpaper. Sounds like a dichotomy to me. What I like most about the picture is the same thing that makes me not like it as a wallpaper.

A good photo but why did you need to add the purple filter effect ?
I'm sure it would be more effective without it.

This works surprisingly well as a wallpaper because the softness of it is not distracting and draws your attention to your windows rather than competing with it. I really like the colours too! Thanks, this is one of my favourites on here for a while!
