Gazed upon by Angels in Their Flight

I took this picture of the beautiful Victoria Falls on my recent visit in November 2009. The photo is taken from the Devil's cataract in direction of the Main Falls. The water at that time of the year is at it's lowest compared to the rest of the year. However the green vegetation around, the many thousands of litres of water storming down into the valley and the sound of twittering birds around you makes this a location worth visiting any time of the year.
Canon EOS 40D, Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8, ISO 100, 1/125 sec., 17mm, f/10. Post-processing in Adobe Lightroom 2, finishing touches in Adobe Photoshop CS4.

This is the most breathtaking photograph I've ever seen on this entire website.

Thanks for your comments!
Two short additional infos I forgot when uploading the photo:
1) this shot is a panorama stitched together from three photos in portrait format using Photoshop CS4.
2) The title is the expression David Livingston used to describe Victoria Falls when he first discovered them in the 1855. He wrote of the falls, "No one can imagine the beauty of the view from anything witnessed in England. It had never been seen before by European eyes; but scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight."

What an astonishing place that must be to visit.
For my eyesight rather than as a static wallpaper this works best on screensaver rotation, which is where it occupies a place of honor :)

Absolutely awesome. So impressed by this photo.
Great use of HDR and lovely colours. Makes my body produce Vitamin D just looking at the sunshine in this photo.
On my desktop. ;)

wow!
this is so good it's almost unreal.
to think that a place like this exists on earth is just.....amazing.
the ONLY way this would be any better is if it was a giant wall mural in which you could get lost and feel like you were floating.
outstanding job.

Like the background but the foreground looks a little over processed and perhaps takes up a little too much of the picture, apart from that its excellent ...

Magnificent! Great job with the photo stitching.
Question for the community: I wish to learn more about photo stitching and I have Photoshop CS3, but I am not sure where to begin. Do any of you know some great tutorials on the web? Are there better programs to do photo stitching?

Beautiful pix! One young Zambian lady, Hilda Hilli Schwager will have a launch of her novel of the same title at Archades mall in Lusaka. Lovely novel. She will also launch another entitled," Exorcism of the demon Child: African Ndoki". Oh, dont you think photos taken from the Zimbabwean side are more breath taking?
