This is very nice indeed. I have been there several times myself, although it is very difficult to reach.

Wait, this place is actually real?

I can't understand if everything is fake or if there something real, but I like it very much!

It's great other than the impossibly large moons in the sky that CG artists never seem to be able to resist including in their skyscapes. It's worthy of inclusion in my slideshow screensaver otherwise.

Finally! I'm not usually one for fantastic pieces but this just amazing! Very very nice photo, thank you very much for the upload :D

Very nice piece! Though I'm not into the moon, for me it doesn't work.

It's a lovely composition and the light source is carefully managed.

The only critical comment I would make is regarding cloud in front of the central pillar of rock which is oddly transparent: the rock features seen through it should probably be blurred somewhat - they seem much too sharp for being viewed through what, essentially, would be fog.

The colors though are lovely and it's a nice atmospheric picture. Certainly worth downloading.

This is magnificent ! if there's a higher quality version available anywhere can you let us know ?

I really do like it, but the one critique I have is that the moon only shows up because of the light it reflects from the sun. It would look more realistic if the lower right of the moons were brighter, not the absolute bottom. Great shot though!

It's the Monastery of Roussanou in Greece. A real place but the right side of the image is mostly photoshop. Not bad but the river perspective isn't right and the land leading down to the river is odd, too.
I'd rather see the full photo of this rather than a composite. Please :)

that is beautiful. my favorite is the right side of the picture with the river and the sun peeking over the mountain. Like tel me later said, the transparent fog/cloud is kind of distracting (for me anyways) but thats only because the rest of the photo is so good! -although maybe you tried having more dense cloud and it stood out too much?

I second Clyde's request for a full photo version :)

Very noticeable banding/gradient in the sky.

Great photo, but the result is just way too cheesy!

That is some truly nice skills you have there. Though, like a couple others, I do wonder why these types of drawings always have crazy large moons in them that distract from everything else.

Who said there must be only photos put on this site as wallpapers ?
I like this one very much !
Some may dislike the moon because it looks not enough 'realistic'.
But this is a CG image which should be seen as fantastic even surreal scenery. Sometimes I need to have that "otherworldly touch" on my desktop just to have a break from real life.
Would like to see more CG, renders and abstracts on interfacelift besides awesome photos.

Wow. You're getting better! I really enjoyed your New years 2010 and now "The Monastery!" Fabulous work with the surreal aspect. This makes the images of my imagination come alive in a realistic sense.

Great work.
