This is just a great shot. Very nice details like the birds on the right. Also, the picture is very sharp. Good job on this one.

Even though it's a bit oversaturated I love this image and I think you chose a great perspective to take this photo!

It is beautiful!! Great job Macindows, as always. Your beach/driftwood pictures is my all time favorite from InterfaceLIFT.

This is really magnificent. The blues are really nice and you captured a really beautiful sky. The buildings look really nice and I love the domes in the background. Excellent job.

I honestly can't say I'm a fan of the colors (they seem oversaturated and a bit unrealistic)... that aside, though, you really captured a beautiful scene here, and the clarity of this photo is amazing. nice job!

Honestly, I am totally unconvinced of the colors. How can be the water turquoise blu and the sky purplish? I think it's a bit too much and the picture does not parse right in my eyes.

WOW! This is amazing Dominic! I just saw this on your Flickr a few days ago and I instantly loved it. True this may not be a super realistic reproduction in terms of the color but this works great for a wallpaper on a laptop! I absolutely love the boats in this scene.
The person that is demanding removing boats is just ahh... I am speechless. The VENICE would not be Venice without the boats! I wonder if anything else should be removed ... like water? I don't like water can you remove it too. Come on! This sounds just ludicrous when we are discussing Venice here. This is why I am not crazy about uploading anything here because of all the unrealistic demands and all the ungratefulness lately.

I'm with Igor with regard to "removing the boats" and all the crazy demands people make. If you don't like the photograph don't download it. No one is forcing you to.

Thanks for all your nice comments! I recently got a new notebook and unfortunately the display seems to be a bit under-saturated. That's why I'm actually a bit mad about myself that I uploaded the picture without checking the picture on different screens before. I'm going to upload a less saturated version to my homepage www.dominickamp.de tonight.
@Igor: Haha, thanks Igor! I was laughing as well when I read the comment to REMOVE the boats! Uhm what? The boats are water taxis and belong to the cityscape as well as the gondolas! I know that certain people can be a bit nit-picky here on IFL and I understand that at least some are trying to give constructive criticism. Sometimes however, it's better to simply stay quiet. I like criticism because it makes me improve my photographic skills but sometimes it's just annoying. Nevertheless, thank you all for your comments! Stay tuned for some more Venice wallpapers!

This doesn't look like a busy highway in California. Could you change the photo so that it looks like that?
Sheesh. Macindows, another fabulous "real life" shot. Your portfolio keeps getting stronger!

Igor Borisenko Photography i think you simply don't upload anything in IFL because you know it wouldn'make it..i saw on your profile your only sumbission on the Loupe and i think it's far from a well-done photo..so less criticize and more respect toward others opinions:)

Funny, from the 17th to the 25th of March i've been in Venice too and have nearly the same Photo in my Library. Perhaps it's because i've been there just a few Days before, but i think this Photo doesn't fits the atmosphere of Venice. It's a great shot but the mood of the colors is more "Disney like" than a representation of the Venetian feeling.
But this is only my personal opinion about the Picture as a Photo and not as a Wallpaper^^
jetzt bin ich natürlich versucht auch eins meiner Photos hochzuladen :D btw: Wann warst du da?

@ lerch84
I am not worried about my images making it here. The image you are referring to is NOT a photo and was never meant to be a photo or realistic reproduction of a scene. I knew it would not suite everyone's taste here but my wife absolutely loves it and she has it on her desktop. She may be in minority but I personally love that piece of art as well. It was meant to be more of a digital painting that was extensively tweaked in Adobe products. I have hundreds of very diversified images in my vast database which a lot of them I am unable to upload here since I am a commercial photographer with various clients and some restriction that prevent me from uploading my signature pieces that would do very well here.

@Lerch84:
No offense Lerch84, but you also haven't been the most contributive IFLer so far! (apart from constant criticizing)

Wow Mac I looove it! I'm currently using it on my 30" Cinema Display and I could look at it forever! The details and sharpness is simply stunning! Also, apart from some others here, I really do like the coloring!

The Master Regains the Throne.
Dominic, this is an instant classic. It stunningly beautiful. I love the curved perspective, the way it leads the eye on a magnificent path. The image has great mise-en-scene. Moreover, the image is not static, which allows you to view it anew time and again. Thank you so much.

While everything is crystal clear and the composition is beautiful, I can't help but feel it looks like Venice after a chemical attack !
One with less saturation please, maestro !

Nice colors. I like the boats, it wouldn't be the same without them!

Oh my. These "can you remove the boats, buildings, etc.." comments really give me a good laugh!
This picture is amazing; I saw it and I was immediately drawn to this. If you toned down the water a tad, I think it would be better, but I love it as is! Keep up the great work. I wish to be as good as you one day! :)

Hey i really love this photo.. love the colours, boats, buildings and all that it entails. Quick question if you don't mind. Was there any photoshopping done to this and if so, what was done? Thanks and keep up the great photography :)

And great timing... I just booked a trip to Venice, Florence, and Rome. My first trip to Italy. Any recommendations about what to see and do while I'm there besides the obvious?
