Good shot, but doesn't do it for me as a background.

Not bad indeed. From where in Northern Italy? I am from NI!

Good thing you're here, bmndibb3, to make sure that we all see the imperfections.

Aside from the terribly insulting and incredibly offensive banding, I like this one very much!

I like that lightning strike in the back, too. It really sets the scale here.

Incredible shot! I agree with Dhaman, that background flash really makes this image perfect! Regardless of bmndibb3's opinion

That is some lightning strike and great job capturing it :) Was the camera set to shoot repeatedly or did you just get lucky ?

Cheers :)

I like how the lightning mimics the look of the tree in the foreground. Nice capture.

I like it, I really like it, but it lacks something I don't know why.

It looks like it's " just " a picture, and not a wallpaper, perhaps the forest I don't really know.

Congratulations on managing to get this mediocre wallpaper on the front page in 3 days. You registered June 1. Either everyone magically loved this wallpaper or you gamed the system.

Must have been a really great feeling when you captured this. Wish I lived somewhere with lightning like this!

This works really well as a desktop on a mac. Having the dock at the bottom of the screen with the trees behind it is a good look.

I'm also getting an E.T. vibe from this wallpaper too. Maybe the BMX was knocked out of the sky by the lightning...

Maybe I should buy everyone here new, decent-quality monitors on which they can see obvious banding and other artifacts.

Wow, it passed the loupe :)

Thanks for the comments! I dont like the lightning strike in the background that much, but too artificial pictures I even like worse, so i dont retouch it.

Happy about 57 "like it" at the moment!

@ bmndibb3 - I wonder, whats the use for a 'decent-quality monitor' for a normal user if it will only ruin otherwise perfectly fine looking pictures?
Or maybe you should try setting your display settings to 32bit color instead of 16.. I only get banding and artifacts @ 16bit.

On topic, it's also a great looking pic on both a 24' iMac and a 22' Samsung T220 :)
