Illumination

July 8th, 2010

On our tour through Sardinia, Italy in March 2010 we came across a lake called "Lago di Liscina". Pretty awesome landscapes and beautiful sunlight made me to do some shots of this location.

Sony DSLR A700 with Tamrom 70-200 ƒ/2.8 raw processed in Adobe Lightroom.

Parki, you have posted some beautiful images previously, and I have been fortunate enough to get copies of them for wallpapers. I feel however that this image seems a bit flat and washed out, it just doesn't pop. Granted it is a great location, but this capture just doesn't seem your standard, or the IFL standard for that matter. This is just my opinion, but it seems the standard for release is becoming a bit lax as of late.

I love the light off the water, and the location!

I do think the image does look a little grainy at high resolutions, but the community can't be mad at the photographers who post to the loupe. There is nothing wrong with trying to submit a photo even if it isn't your best.

It's funny how people write one-line compliments but think they need an entire paragraph apologizing for just giving constructive criticism, which is the whole point.

Well, I couldn't download it at first but I suppose you were still uploading, my comment has been removed :D

But now I can and I like it, the far view is like a painting and the whole picture reminds me of the Lord of the Ring, I can't tell why.

Neat location, but I agree with Neocane. Compared to others in your portfolio, this one does not stand out. It has a very old feel to it, and I miss the extra saturated highlights that you captured/produced in your other pieces.

It's not so different as to be identified as experimental or abstract from your other work, so it just looks like it doesn't fit in.

More, please, of your other stylings!

Not sharp enough for me, I would love to see the original...

Fantastic view! Was this captured through the glass window or something of that nature? If so this would explain uneven light or lack of contrast if not then maybe atmospheric conditions combined with harsh light made this scene appear washed out. I do like this and I did vote for it. I thought I already downloaded this through the loupe unless there was something that looked very similar.

I actually really love this. For me the desaturation and slight grain really work together to make it dreamy and magical, and the river is just beautiful. Downloaded immediately.

Agree with loquaciousquark on this one, this photo has a dreamy, otherworldly ambiance that I appreciate a great deal.

I like it. The haziness reminds me of a painting, and it is a very beautiful location.

Looks like a faded old photograph found accidentally on the bottom of a drawer, bringing back memories of an holiday trip years ago. Fantastic sentiment. Thanks.

to be honest: i didn't expect this one to get voted for the download section. quality is not that good, that's right. messed up the sharpness here.... but i loved the mood.

anyway, since one of my shots here on ifl was used for commercial purpose i don't upload that much high quality shots anymore. still i have other shots in the loupe that are better than this one.
you could also check my website (see profile) and make some suggestions to me which one you would prefer as wallpaper.

i really like this one. I disagree with the previous posts that say it looks washed out and doesn't pop. I find it very artistic and different from many of the other entries. It almost looks like a painting. well done :)

I love this photo and the overall feel is very much like a beautiful painting (I am an oil painter.) I wish the composition is more concentrated to the top-middle section where the light is. The bottom (nearby) part is not that interesting and should be reduced so that viewers are not distracted.
