Ominous 2

July 18th, 2010

Taken in 2004. Ominous clouds were passing by so I went to the above ground reservoir to get a good unobstructed view.

Kodak EasyShare DX4530. Manipulated some in Photoshop Elements 8.

Some nice blues there. I don't think it's a 'loser'. 6/10.

Huh? bmndibbb... Looks like everyone is tired of your complaining. Is that all you could say about this gorgeous wallpaper. I think you just called yourself a loser. I have no doubt that there are plenty of folks who will like this amazing wallpaper.

Mike you did amazing job with this submission. Congratulations! I think this is not short of amazing and no doubt an instant favorite. I do not see any flaws in this wallpaper. Cheers.

Do I really have to write another soliloquy about IFL here? bmndibbb, please read what I wrote for "Lotus Flower" so I don't have to recant it all again.

For someone who constantly talks about "constructive" criticism, you certainly don't give any.

This is my new desktop. It captured a really neat shade of blue, and I love it.

They really should remove the "insightful" button from bmndibbb's posts.

wow this is amazing!! has a theatrical feel to it. I'm no photography expert but I come to this site many times daily looking for the newest pictures, and only a few get saved to my collection. This one is definitely a great piece I was in awe as soon as I saw it. I only checked the comments for this one to see everyone elses amazed reaction only to be a bit disappointed. So I just wana say good work man, keep it up, I truly LOVE this.

the water feels plasticky. the sky is way too gloomy, the gloominess is just overwhelming, but in an uninteresting way. the detail in the water is razor sharp. but the sky is blurry. it just doesn't go together.

it's an cool photograph and i would have been glad to have taken it, but it's not good enough for a wallpaper. it just doesn't speak to me.

I love how this wallpaper is so...soft? I don't know how to say it, but I just love it. It isn't too distracting on the eye and serves great as a wallpaper.

Well done.

Love it. I don't think it looks gloomy at all. If anything, I see hope on the horizon.

The noise at the bottom is a little distracting, but overall it is a very beautiful shot. A little more work on the bottom, and I think the noise could be taken care of.

this shot is beautiful, has atmosphere, and isn't any bad in quality.
absolutely agree with Igor Borisenko. some people think that comments are only there to dump their frustration, instead of making the author a bit happier with positive comments. and it's not just about comments, it's about attitude to life in general...

Thanks mikemike! The cold dark blue against the warm yellow creates a very pleasant photo. It's my new wallpaper.

Something unusual, kudos. I would rate the picture only average on the technical grounds, but visually it is a really nice effort. I think you are quite close to get it right.

BTW, a tad too much unsharp mask? There are strange artifacts in the high contrasted zones.
