Playing with Sunlight
By SalmanArif
October 8th, 2010
I decided to take a stroll in the garden and took my camera along with me. Saw some sunlight falling on the grass through the trees and decided to take a photo just for the fun of it...
Nikon D90, AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR @ 105mm, f/5.6, 1/30sec, CameraBag Desktop 1.5.1.

This is one of those "car crash" pictures. As much as you would like to look away, you are drawn to look more.
As much as there may be things wrong with it (I am no expert so wouldn't hope to tell you what they were) I really like the colour and the abstract-ness of it.
For me I will put it proudly into my wallpaper rotation.
Everything that might be wrong with this picture is also what is right.
I really like it.

love the brightness, colour, and that it feels 'fresh'
can't think of much other than maybe if the foreground were a bit sharper?

I really don't mind the slight lack of sharpness, as I was simply blown away by the colors. Strange to say, but I almost felt that this single wallpaper alone justifies spending almost a grand on a monitor with a good (H-IPS) panel.
I especially like how both the background and foreground are blurred. The latter is usually bad practice, but in this case it works well and also makes the picture better-suited for use as a wallpaper: the pattern doesn't interfere with the icons on top/bottom.
Brilliant colors again, well done!

Unfortunately I think it's nowhere really sharp. I regret that I have to say that kills it for me as a wallpaper.
