great foreground detail in the rocks and the mirror like water...
the clouds and colours lead to an over all horrible sky !

When I first saw the thumbnail I thought it was a fish-eye lens (which I don't particularly like) - I'm glad I clicked on download, because the thumbnail really doesn't do the picture justice. The detail is superb, the colors are striking, and if you back away from it... it kinda does look like an eye... a closed one that's just barely opening down the center. Really fun picture :)
The faded blue of the mountains don't really match the vivid colors displayed in the sky, and there's not much you can do about that... however, I guess you could say it makes the colors stand out even more. Kind of like the type of photos which showcase beautiful people in front of run down backgrounds. The theory is that the worse the background is, the better the person looks. It would be interesting to test that theory (indirectly) by making the mountain range as heavily contrasted as the sky and seeing if it takes away any of the appeal... Just a thought.

Might have been improved if you captured the Okanagan lake beast.
