Into the Fog...
By colindub.com
October 29th, 2010
A beautiful day in San Francisco, California. The fog covered everything a few minutes after this shot.
Nikon D90, AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED, Adobe Lightroom 3.

It always amazes me that every shot of the Golden Gate bridge seems different and stands on its own. This shot is no exception.
I (although not a native of the Bay area) will be compelled to clone out the Sutro tower.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I can see that the Sutro tower must go now.
Here is the color version (it seemed like too much of a duplicate to submit here): http://www.flickr.com/photos/colindub/5129012460/

I don't know, I like it as black and white. It helps with the mysterious look from the fog. It's really a great shot. I think in color though, it would seem more like a generic pic of the San Francisco.
Although, honestly, the vignetting is at the very least overdone, if not entirely unnecessary. Lowering the brightness would've gotten the same "dark" look without adding a big black tunnel to the sides.

This is what I call an amazing wallpaper! I love this in black and white equally as the color one. I think you did fantastic job IMHO. The vignetting is very effective here as well. This is top notch buddy!
Thanks for sharing this beauty I really love this area and every time I see an image I am moved. Cheers.

I am absolutely in love with this one. It'd be great if we could have the higher resolutions for the colour version as well!

Thanks for the nice wallpaper. Definitely like the fog and black/white image.
Personally I'm no fan of the tunnel and it appears to me that the second pylon tilts slightly to the right. Is this because of the particular angle?

Thanks again for all the kind comments.
I made some changes to the color one on my flickr, so the address is different: http://www.flickr.com/photos/colindub/5156306658/
If you want the color one, feel free to email me. I doubt it would be voted up to the top for download since it is so similar!

I'm not that much for black and white wallpapers though. Would really like to see an upload of a color version.
