Empty Bottles

November 8th, 2010

I took this shot on friday night in a bar in Cologne, Germany while going out. There had been an excursion beforehand--otherwise I wouldn't have taken my camera with me (maybe)... ;)

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.

Very fun shot - its nice to see something different :). Love the colors. Not an expected picture from a bar ;).

The only real bummer for me (and its slight) is the line in the wall separations. It breaks up the flow. Don't know if that could have been shopped out.

Something different and pleasant.
Those are not wall separations. They are stings that are holding the shelves. Notice the line is going in front of the bottles. :)

I love this image! And for pretty much the same reasons as QuaffAPint above. 1) It's fun 2) Love the colors 3) Not your typical IFL wallpaper

Not much to say down here. I did notice the wall separations, as was pointed out, but it really isn't a big deal.

This is just excellence. Pure excellence. It's perfect that none have labels and that it is perfectly straight. It has a well-controlled exposure and the different shapes are great. I'm glad you didn't shoot looking down the wall.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it! :)

It took a while to compensate my angle of view in PSE (otherwise I would have had to climb on the counter and probably have been thrown out ...), but in the end I was quite satisfied with the result. Shopping out the lines would have been too much time to spend at that point.

Something different indeed! I like it, it's fun, colorful and masterfully executed. I also LIKE the wires holding up the shelves personally. They give your eyes something else so look at, and break up the image in almost perfectly even segments. This would work great if used as a texture in a bar or restaurant in a video game, maybe with a little bit of glow.

For what it is, I don't see how it could've been improved at all. Not necessarily the greatest photo for wallpaper, (maybe with a little vignetting) but it's a keeper none the less. Thanks uburoi! =)

Interesting. I typically find a lot of photos that look great as thumbnails, but when I view them full-sized, they don't cut it as a wallpaper. This is just the opposite. As a matter of fact, the thumbnail barely piqued my interest enough to view it enlarged. I'm glad I did. As others have said, great colors and lighting, and the composition of straight horizontal lines works great as a desktop background. Bravo.

Nice work. I downloaded hundreds of wallpapers til now but now I use only a few of them.
This wallpaper is one of my four favourites.
