Good composition, sharp. Technically good image. Keep shooting.

Very static, too much "clarity" added in post processing (edges of rock are blacker than middle of rock), lack of interesting subject.

Wow. I love this. The black and white really makes it pop.

@paul: Thanks for your comments and constructive feedback. The hard edges were intentional and were done without very little "clarity" added (although contrast and brightness were modified). The rock really was darker in those areas. Using B&W exaggerated this effect for a nice pop.

Amazing image. I really like the reflection on the sand and black and white was a good choice. Wave details are really good at 2560x1600.
Canon Beach has always been in my mind as a bright place with good memories maybe because of sunny weather on my visits or maybe because i have been wanting to go back there for like five years but did not have a chance.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the same rock formation as the formation that appears in The Goonies. This rock lines up with the old lighthouse and the abandoned restaurant, leading the kids right to the "rich stuff." The catch, as the photographer will surely know, is that the lighthouse and restaurant are in reality not in the same location.
