The Moonrise
By Kymo
January 5th, 2011
I've always loved shots of the Moon and wide angles of the sea with that misty look - so here I've tried to combine them...
Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM. Adobe Photoshop CS4.

This is really something!! Reminds me of a blacklight poster I had in my teens.
It's mystical...enchanting even. Very nice. Thanks for your effort.

Very pretty, great colors. Really sets the mood... but...
the moon is not correct if this shot was meant to be taken from earth. It is upside down. The starburst should be from teh bottom right, not the top right.

@LisaLee Designs. People in the southern hemisphere see the moon upside down, which is where Kymo is from. According to his other photo.
As for the photo it will be my wallpaper for awhile.

I think it's a cool idea and a surreal image. I also like how the palm tree catches the moonlight.
The edges of the moon and the palm tree look edited, and there is a distracting graininess in the sky. Also a little too dark for my taste.

This is an interesting shot that I have mixed feelings about. It gives me the feeling of remote viewing, as my mind's eye flies over the water. :P Not saying that I'm into that sorta thing... >.>
I would be interested in seeing the original. Are those buildings that are behind the fog on the horizon?

The curves and the sfumato effect of the clouds in the background really makes this work stand out.
This work needs to be less awesome. It blows my mind every time I see it, which definitely can't be healthy.
