Cumbrian Twilight

January 17th, 2011

I took this shot after sunset at Blea Tarn in the Lake District, Cumbria, UK. It's an awesome location for photography. Try to visit this place if you're in this area!

Sony DSLR A850 with Zeiss 16-35/2.8.

I love the Lakes, I live an hour away and go there all the time for the great roads and beautiful landscapes. Great photo!

I don't see the point of that fence having barbed wire on it maybe somebody can fill me in. Anyways, this is interesting enough to save and stick into my wallpaper folder. Not my favorite of yours but it is pleasing to look at none-the-less. I especially like the colors and the spacial balance, and that reflection of sky just tops it off. It looks like a beautiful place! Thanks Parki and I hope you keep submitting because you definitely have a great eye.

The scenery in this region is stunning, I'll grant you that.

I downloaded the largest version of this just because there is something seriously wrong with the horizon. Has the sky been added later ? There is a definite black outline along the hill tops and ridges as if the original sky has been cropped out and a new one pasted in..badly. Or you used the "clarity" adjustment in Lightroom a little too vigorously :)
The foreground is perfect though !

Thank you for the comments and critics.

@Clyde: No, the sky is original. But you are right with the outline although I think it's not that distracting. I'm not a pixelpeeper and if the clarity adjustment messed up the hilltops during the processing I didn't notice. Nobody's perfect.
Maybe you like my other loupe submission better =)
