Wow, that's pretty amazing. What part of it exactly is part of the photo? I'm studying in Switzerland and love it here :)

I dunno, it may be a bit too symmetrical. I'm no photography critic though!

Absolutely beautiful, definitely one of the best pictures I've seen on this website. It's now the wallpaper for both my iMac and MacBook Air. Love it.

I really like how everything pops, and the colours are great. As usual the clarity of the elements from you is unreal, you have a true talent.

My only issue with the image as a whole is the cloud cover visible on the mountains. Considering how 'clear' the night sky is, seeing clouds on the mountains ruins it a little for me, but it's a minor issue. Great composition!

Sehr sehr stark! Würdest du mir erklären wie man das so sauber hinbekommt? Den Sternen-Himmel so klar, dass ganze bei ISO50 und auch insgesamt sehr rauscharm?

Vielen Dank,

Sven :)

Sven asked me how I achieved the starry sky to be so clear and of low-noise.
As with a couple of my other wallpaper, I constructed the image using several layers. First there are the trees, behind and in front of the hill, then their shadows which origin from the moonlit night. Then of course the mountains and the clouds behind it.

The background consists of three layers. One color layer which is simply a circular transition going from pink/purple to super dark blue. The I used one of the milky way photos from last year on top and set layer settings to "screen". Then I added another layer and went a little crazy with a couple of star brushes. You can find them by google-ing for "star brush photoshop" and then simply change scattering and interval. You maybe should also try google-ing for "create space photoshop". There are plenty of great tutorials out there. Hope that helped! ;-)

Every once in a while a picture on this site is a perfect 10, and this is one such picture! You've proven once again you are a true master at layers Dominic! You can almost never tell how many layers and post processing work you put into your art and that's saying something, because they always have so much unity and coalescence. This is stunning and so sharp. If I could describe it as a whole in one word that word would have to be "flawless". Thanks for this beautiful piece!

Have to say, this is, one of, if not the single most beautiful, stunning, awe inspiring photos I have ever laid eyes on. It boggles my mind, that each dot in the sky is a star, and each dot could have planets around it, some of which may have the potential to be life supporting, and thats our galaxy.. there are over 250 billion more galaxies out there.
Thank you for this absolutely phenomenal photo. I feel humbled.
