I love the layers of color in this image, simply beautiful. (Just as a quick aside, the big peak in the middle is Lone Pine Peak and Whitney is off to the right. Everybody takes pics of Lone Pine Peak in the middle, though, because frankly it is so much better looking than Whitney.)

Yes, the colours, clarity and majesty of the mountains themselves is awesome.

But the grey/black heap of ? on the left is very out of place and totally distracting.

Averain is right. This is actually lone pine peak, Whitney is the spiky one on the far right. Lone pine peak is in the mid ground, and and you can tell the other peak would be much higher.

cool shot though. The view from the top is even better. :)

Like others have said the quality of this shot is perfect! Such clarity and sharpness even at great distances! We have another great photographer posting on IFL now and his name is oddurs. Thank you for capturing this peaceful landscape...

I don't see the "grey/black heap" on the left Clyde is supposedly referring to. Oh, I guess your talking about that rocky hill right, but I'd have to point out it balances out the weight of the composition of this shot so I'm glad that it's there. Thanks again oddurs fantastic shot!

I really like this image, not because it's beautifully taken, perfectly composed or that it's just an excellent desktop image. No, I like it because of that path right there in front! So easy to imagine one's self there...

I see some people worry about the pile of stones, but as Daddy_Gemini said, it really balances the shot out.
