@fjawodfc:
Not a photographer much? Atmospheric conditions are usually the limiting factor with long distances so I am sure that is why you feel the mountains are blurry and the much closer foreground is sharp. There is only so much depth of field you can get too. The noise would be hidden in the foreground detail so that's why it's not as obvious.
Also, grain isn't an allergy. I think it personally ADDS to this photo.

Great photo...I'm not a photographer so I can't comment on the details of the execution, but I live in Arizona and my favorite part of being here are the lonely desert roads. Very evocative!

This looks great. I rarely see photographs from the desert and the road obviously adds a lot of contrast to the image. I'm not sure if you desaturated at all, but if you did then it was the perfect idea, it really captures the feel of being in a desert. Also, DOF makes the road and mountains look miles and miles away, I love it.

Thanks for the comments!
About the quality: the picture was taken from a moving car, through the front windshield, so I that's why some parts of the picture are blurry.

This reminds me of the scenery one would see on the way to Las Vegas! My birthday is coming up too so I might be going there again! Woot! Nice depth and choice of camera position. I would not have liked it as much had you placed your tripod in the middle of the road. :P

The sky is grainy and mountains are blurry. Some of the foreground objects are sharper, so I don't know what happened. How's the original in comparison?
