Wallpaper Details: The Cube
The Cube

It is of course a 3D Image, made with VUE by Eon Software. This was just an experimental render which i was going to delete, but its now quite complete. And i know many of you may think so, but it is not meant to be the 'Allspark'. I am not even a big transformers fan, though the movies were kinda cool.
VUE, Adobe Photoshop.

oooh, I really like this one as well! It really reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey when the Monolith was discovered.
The amount of detail you put into all the elements are fantastically intricate. The texture in the background mountains and the sliver of a moon, the ripples and reflection in the water, the silhouetted tree line, the different elevations in the sand, and even the long, late day shadows that the people on the beach are casting are all so well done.
The contrasting blue lights on the cube really set the whole image off and makes the structure seem even more formidable against the soft landscape.
YouÂ’ve got some serious talent!
Love a 3840 x 1200 version. Other than that, you have done such an amazing job!

This is very cool work. I like the kind of Borg ship / Space Odyssey feel it gives. First time that I have changed my wallpaper in months.

Oooohhhl. Awe-Inspiring and it's a clean composition. I love the people walking up to greet this "cube" and how big their "moon" is (Even though I guess they could be the moon). There's a tiny bit of banding but barely noticeable, probably just because of jpeg compression for online use. I'm a huge sci-fi fan and this is right up my alley. I also commend you on your shoreline. The shape of its perimeter and the foamy water texture around the edge of the water make it very believable. Now I really want to get Vue. Thanks for this gem hameed!

I almost like it (=
I mean, I like the composition e the potential this scene has, but I think
there are some issues with illumination:
- people's shadows don't seem to come from where the light source is
- the giant cube isn't casting any shadow and the top, which seems to be directed toward the light source, isn't properly illuminated.
Last thing, I don't like the tiling of the texture on the cube. Some more "complex" texture would have been better in my opinion.

You are good. I wouldn't of ever thought of transformers until I read your description......it still doesn't make me think of transformers.

I like it a lot and don't agree with Tesctassa.
Except that the composition is great, we can agree there.
Your issues are yours alone:
- The people's shadows are coming EXACTLY from where the light source is.
- The giant cube IS casting proper shadows. The upper side is not facing directly towards the light source and it's made of dark metal-like material anyways. Also, how often do you see shadows being cast on water? Water works with reflections and refraction not shadow. And all visible sides of the cube ARE properly illuminated. I mean, its in a 3D environment, how false can the lighting be? This isn't a painting or strictly photoshop piece.
Last thing, how "complex" did you expect the texture? Did you want it to have lots of pipes, cabling, rust and lights? That wouldn't be very sufficient at flying through space don't you think? I think the texture is just about perfect in my opinion.
