I am afraid I have nothing constructive to say about this image, can someone explain what they like about it?

I don't get it.

I really don't intend to be mean, but I just don't understand this picture.

it looks like a black/white composition where mother earth is falling into the sun?!

Hi guys!
The original version on deviantart is red; it's a burning sun on the horizon line, and earth is falling into it (like walfersama said).
This blue version is better for desktop using, it has sweet color. In this case i think the sun appears like another planet, so... intend it like you want :D

Billion years from now, sun swelling up. That's what I get from it.

Needs color. Or maybe some fire beings evolved only monochrome sight.

I like the ambiguity, like I don't know what I'm looking at, but it definitely packs a creepy punch.

I don't think it could be improved by changing. Too many sci-fi walls here just scream cheesy at me, with too much colour saturation, and a distinctive CGI game look. This is much more impressive.

I actually like it a lot! My new wallpaper. It's a nice refreshment after all the typical interfacelift sunset shots that come in packs.

I think I know how the person created this, a little bit smoother edges on the vertical shape towards the bottom of it.
