A Very Starry Night

April 23rd, 2011

Long exposure of the night sky from Malibu, California. Saw a shooting star shortly after. :)

Very interesting. The lights of Santa Monica and Los Angeles in the distance make it seem almost like a some kind of a compound sunset - though of course the sun doesn't set in the south. ;-) There's also that tell-take ceiling of smog over LA. It's also rare that the sky is so clear of fog or haze on the coast. Nice catch.

I find nothing to criticize in this image. It's a rare pic.

perfect long exposure land scape. congratulations.

You can start using lens distortion section of CS5 to reduce deflections of the left bottom corner of your camera.

Pretty amazing picture! The shooting star you saw might have very well been one of the Lyrids meteor shower. We saw some of that in NL as well last weekend.
